Seiersberg-Pirka was established on January 1, 2015, as part of the Styrian municipal structural reform through the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Seiersberg and Pirka. The community is located directly southwest of the state capital, Graz, and serves as one of Styria's most important economic locations. The dominant feature is the Shopping City Seiersberg, one of Austria's largest shopping malls, which attracts millions of visitors annually. Beyond its commercial significance, Seiersberg-Pirka also features attractive residential areas and recreational spaces in the surrounding forests and hills. Historically, the region was rural for a long time but rapidly transformed into a suburban hub due to its proximity to Graz and excellent transport links (A2 and A9 motorways). The municipality places great emphasis on modern infrastructure, educational opportunities, and active community life. The blend of urban lifestyle and rural tranquility makes it one of the fastest-growing municipalities in the Graz metropolitan area.
