- The 'Tauernrunde' ski circuit lets you explore the entire resort without taking off your skis; just follow the red or green signs.
- Obertauern is located on a high mountain pass at 1,740m. Snow chains or excellent winter tires are strictly necessary in winter.
- Accommodation here is mostly ski-in/ski-out. Leave your car parked at your hotel for the duration of your stay.

Obertauern is one of Austria's highest and most snow-sure winter sports resorts. Located at the Radstädter Tauern pass at approximately 1,740 meters, the town provides a unique basin setting that allows for 'ski-in, ski-out' convenience directly from hotel doorsteps. The highlight is the 'Tauernrunde', a circuit of lifts and slopes that can be skied clockwise or counter-clockwise without needing a bus. The resort made history in 1965 when the Beatles filmed scenes for their movie 'Help!' here. In addition to 100 km of slopes, Obertauern is famous for its lively Après-Ski scene. During summer, hikers enjoy the cool mountain air and the impressive Johannes Waterfall. Access is via the Radstädter Tauern road (B99), which is usually well-maintained even in winter.
