💡 Tips
- The ski area fills up quickly; hit the slopes first thing in the morning, especially the Hermann Maier World Cup run.
- Après-ski is very lively down in the valley, but the higher-altitude mountain huts remain more relaxed.
- In summer, the 'Lucky Flitzer' alpine coaster provides a fast-paced break for the whole family.
- Make use of the extensive, free ski bus network instead of driving your own car to the lifts.

Flachau is one of Austria's most famous winter sports resorts, located directly on the Tauern highway in the Salzburg region. The village achieved world fame as the home of the "Herminator" Hermann Maier and regularly hosts the Alpine Ski World Cup, especially the legendary women's night slalom. The wide, perfectly groomed slopes are good for sporty carvers. Off the slopes, Flachau is known for its pulsating nightlife and first-class après-ski. In the summer months, the image changes: the village becomes a hub for active vacationers with gives for mountain biking, rafting, and canyoning. Particularly popular are the two nearby swimming lakes and the Enns Cycle Path, which starts here. For families, the "Lucky Flitzer" year-round alpine coaster has fun for all ages.
