Đavolja Varoš (Devil's Town) is a unique geological formation in southern Serbia, near Kuršumlija. It consists of about 200 earth pyramids (towers) up to 15 meters high. These erosion formations were created by millennia of erosion of volcanic tuff and andesite. The area is known for its acidic springs and mineral-rich streams, creating an otherworldly landscape. The site has been protected as a natural monument since 1959 and is a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage. The earth pyramids bear local names such as 'The Groom' and 'The Bride,' based on legends. The surroundings are covered by mixed forests, providing habitat for bears, wolves, and numerous bird species. Visitors can use a hiking trail along the formations and to the nearby hot springs.
