Krčmar (Serbia)

Weather…

Krčmar is a significant mountain ridge and a renowned skiing area located just below Pančić's Peak in the Kopaonik massif of Serbia. Reaching an elevation of approximately 1,931 meters, the area is characterized by its steep slopes and dense forests of spruce and fir trees. Geologically, Krčmar is defined by volcanic rocks and granite intrusions, which have created a rugged and distinct alpine landscape. The region is particularly famous for its demanding ski slopes, which are among the longest and most technically challenging in the entire Kopaonik resort. Historically, the Kopaonik mountains were a major center for mining since the Middle Ages, and Krčmar lies near ancient routes used for ore transportation. Its status within the National Park since 1981 ensures the protection of its biodiversity, including rare avian species like the golden eagle. From the ridge, one can enjoy expansive views stretching toward the Golija mountain and the West Morava river valley. The recent addition of high-speed chairlifts has solidified Krčmar's reputation as a cornerstone of Serbian mountain tourism.
