- Some shore areas are steep and muddy; wear suitable walking shoes.
- Swimming is common, but be aware there are no official lifeguards on duty.
- Bring cash, as many small lakeside vendors and boat rentals don't accept cards.

Water temperature…
Batlava Lake is a man-made reservoir constructed in the 1970s to supply drinking water to Pristina and Podujevo. Over time, it has evolved into one of Kosovo's premier summer destinations. Set among rolling hills, the lake gives an easy on the eye setting with clean, deep waters that are well-suited for a variety of water-based activities. The village of Orllan serves as the main hub for visitors, featuring numerous lakeside restaurants known for serving fresh fish and traditional Balkan cuisine. Popular activities include swimming, boat rentals, and fishing. The surrounding hills also provide great vantage points for photography and light hiking. While the shores can get busy on weekends, the atmosphere remains generally relaxed. The lake is approximately a 45-minute drive from Pristina. The peak visiting season is during the summer months when the water temperature is convenient for swimming. For those seeking peace, the shoulder seasons of spring and autumn offer beautiful scenery and a much quieter experience, good for birdwatching and landscape appreciation.
