Gobelja Peak (Serbia)

Weather…

Gobelja Peak, at 1934 meters, is one of the most prominent elevations in the Kopaonik Mountains, Serbia's largest ski center. It is located in the northern part of Kopaonik National Park and features one of the most versatile winter sports areas in the country. The Gobelja massif geologically consists of granite and granodiorite rocks, explaining its rugged forms and deep incisions. In winter, the slopes at Gobelja are known for their challenging conditions and excellent natural snow. In summer, the peak transforms into a blooming alpine meadow, providing habitat for numerous endemic plant species such as the Kopaonik iris. From Gobelja, there is a spectacular view of Kopaonik's highest point, Pančićev Vrh, as well as the distant Golija Mountains. The mountain's infrastructure has been modernized in recent years, with special emphasis placed on the harmony between tourism and national park protection.
