Valaam

Valaam is more than just an archipelago; it is often called the 'Athos of the North.' The central Transfiguration Monastery sits majestically atop granite cliffs, attracting pilgrims and tourists alike. The islands are defined by dense coniferous forests, rugged cliffs, and the vast waters of Lake Ladoga, Europe's largest lake.
