Ryazan

Ryazan, idyllically situated on the right bank of the Oka River, is one of the oldest and most historically rich cities in Central Russia. Founded as early as 1095, the city played a central role in medieval Russia before being almost completely destroyed by the Mongols and later rebuilt. The undisputed heart of the city is the magnificent Ryazan Kremlin, an impressive ensemble of white stone featuring the majestic Cathedral of the Assumption, whose colorful domes are visible from afar.
