Nokwane lies in the western Lubombo District and has in recent years become one of Eswatini's most innovative locations. It hosts the Royal Science and Technology Park (RSTP), a major project initiated by the kingdom to promote the country's scientific and economic modernization. The RSTP comprises research facilities, an Innovation Hub for start-ups, a biotechnology laboratory and a Free Trade Zone where foreign investors enjoy tax advantages. There is also an ICT school that teaches young Eswatini citizens programming and data analytics. The idea is clear: Eswatini should transform from an agrarian economy into a knowledge-based society. Climatically Nokwane enjoys a mild Lowveld climate with warm summers and mild winters. The region is well connected via the MR3 highway and lies strategically close to the Manzini industrial area and to King Mswati III International Airport. Despite these modern developments Nokwane retains a rural charm with traditional farms, small villages and a closely-knit community. The blend of high tech and tradition makes Nokwane a symbol of Eswatini's vision for the future and an example of how African kingdoms strategically integrate modern technology.
