Mkhaya Game Reserve

Mkhaya Game Reserve is Eswatini's premium safari destination and a beacon of success for endangered species conservation. Established in 1979 to save the pure Nguni breed of cattle, it quickly expanded its mission to protect endangered wildlife, most notably both black and white rhinos. It features one of the best chances in Africa to see black rhinos in the wild. The reserve is unique because it cannot be explored by self-driving visitors; all safaris are guided in open Land Rovers or on walking tours, ensuring an intimate and highly informative experience. The Stone Camp, deep in the reserve, provides a rustic yet luxurious stay with semi-open stone and thatch cottages, allowing you to hear the sounds of the African bush at night. Pre-booking is essential for day tours or overnight stays, as access is strictly controlled. Meeting points are usually arranged just off the main road.
