Grab a quick plate of this iconic minced meat dish at the casual eateries right next to the waterfalls.
In late summer, locals sell freshly picked fruits from the Herzegovina region along the path to the falls.
Some riverside restaurants offer freshly caught fish from the Trebižat river, usually grilled simply with garlic.
🛍 Shopping · 🧘 Quiet spots
Purchase raw local honey, often infused with sage or heather, from vendors near the entrance.
Look for local fruit brandies (grape or fig) sold by small local producers in the parking area.
Take a short walk downstream or take a boat ride to this smaller, much less crowded waterfall area.
Rent a canoe up the river to enjoy the tranquil green waters and birdlife in excellent silence.
Water temperature…
The Kravica Waterfall is a memorable natural amphitheater on the Trebižat River, located near the town of Ljubuški. Spanning about 120 meters in width and dropping 25 meters, the water cascades over tufa (travertine) cliffs into a crystal-clear emerald pool. This site is often called 'Little Niagara' due to its impressive layout and lush surroundings, featuring poplars and fig trees that thrive in the mist. During the summer heat, the pool at the bottom becomes a popular swimming spot for locals and tourists alike. Small cafes and restaurants are set along the banks, offering a chance to dine with a direct view of the falls. Historic watermills can still be seen nearby, adding to the easy on the eye charm of the area. It is easily accessible from Mostar or the Dalmatian coast, making it a must-see highlight of any trip through southern Bosnia and Herzegovina.
