- The small stone bridges crossing the river get extremely crowded around midday.
- Purchase the combined ticket if you also plan to visit the adjacent Dervish monastery.
- The force of the water emerging from the cave is most impressive in spring after the snowmelt.

Water temperature…
Vrelo Bune, the source of the Buna River, is a striking natural phenomenon located near Blagaj. With an average discharge of 43 cubic meters per second, it ranks among the largest and most powerful karst springs in Europe. The water emerges from a cavernous opening at the base of a 200-meter vertical limestone cliff. The water's color shifts between deep sapphire and bright emerald depending on the light, while its temperature remains a steady and chilly 8 degrees Celsius year-round. Visitors can take small rubber boats a short distance into the cave to witness the powerful upwelling of water and the unique rock formations inside. The juxtaposition of the massive rock wall, the mysterious cave, and the gushing river makes it one of the most visited natural landmarks in the country. The constant roar of the water fills the valley, creating a naturally cool and soothing environment even during the peak of summer. The area surrounding the spring is well-developed for tourism, featuring numerous riverside cafes and restaurants with terraces overhanging the icy water. These establishments are famous for serving fresh trout caught directly from the river. Walking paths along the banks lead to pleasant small bridges and historic watermills. The most dramatic time to visit is during the spring when the snowmelt from the surrounding mountains brings the spring to its full, roaring capacity.
