Wiener Neudorf is a market town in the district of Mödling in Lower Austria, immediately adjoining the southern city boundary of Vienna. The municipality is considered one of the economically strongest locations in Austria, primarily due to the Industrial Center Lower Austria South (IZ NÖ-Süd), which lies partly on the municipal territory and provides thousands of jobs. Despite the strong industrial presence, Wiener Neudorf has maintained its character as a livable residential community. Historically, the place was first mentioned in the year 1270 and was shaped for centuries by agriculture and brickmaking. A prominent landmark is the neoclassical parish church of Maria Schnee in the town center. For leisure activities, the Neudorfer See and extensive park areas are available. Transport connections are excellent, as Wiener Neudorf is located directly on the A2 South Motorway and is optimally connected to the public transport network of Vienna and Baden via several stops of the Wiener Lokalbahn (Badner Bahn). The municipality continuously invests in social infrastructure and environmental protection measures to maintain the balance between economic growth and quality of life.
