Brunn am Gebirge is located on the southern outskirts of Vienna and ranks among the oldest continuously inhabited sites in Austria. Archaeological excavations have uncovered a major settlement of the Linear Pottery culture dating back to approximately 5500 BC. The community has transformed from a traditional farming village into a modern industrial hub and a highly desirable residential suburb. An architectural landmark is the Gartenstadt (Garden City), one of the nation's earliest worker settlements designed in the Art Nouveau style. The neo-Gothic parish church dedicated to Saint Kunibert serves as a prominent visual anchor in the town center. Currently, Brunn am Gebirge serves as a strategic economic location for numerous corporations due to its proximity to the A2 motorway and excellent rail links. Despite rapid modernization, the town maintains its historical connection to viticulture along the slopes of the Vienna Woods. The blend of prehistoric significance and contemporary economic strength makes it a unique part of the Vienna metropolitan area.
