Guntramsdorf is a market town in the district of Mödling in Lower Austria, located south of Vienna. The municipality lies in the fertile Thermal Region and has been known for centuries for its viticulture, especially for varieties such as Zierfandler and Rotgipfler. Parallel to the agricultural tradition, Guntramsdorf developed into an important industrial location, favored by the construction of the Wiener Neustädter Canal in the 19th century. A striking feature of the town is its numerous ponds, such as the Windradlteich or the Ozean Pond, which now serve as popular swimming and recreation areas. Historically, the place was first mentioned in the year 859. Guntramsdorf gives a high quality of life through the combination of commercial dynamism and village coziness. Public transport connections are excellent via the Wiener Lokalbahn (Badner Bahn), which connects the town directly with the Vienna State Opera and Baden. Culturally, the municipality has a lively club life and traditional wine festivals that attract visitors from the entire region. The architecture in the town center shows well-preserved townhouses and historic wine estates.
