Himberg is situated in the Vienna Basin, just a few kilometers from the Vienna city limits and Schwechat Airport. This market town has evolved from an agricultural village into a significant economic hub within the capital's metropolitan area. Himberg is particularly renowned for the exclusive Fontana residential and sports resort, which is home to one of Europe's most prestigious golf courses and regularly hosts international tournaments. Its excellent transport links via the Eastern Railway and proximity to the A3 Southeast Motorway make it an attractive location for both commuters and industrial enterprises. Historically, the region was settled early, as evidenced by Bronze Age findings. In the town center stands the late Gothic parish church of St. George, which has been redesigned several times over the centuries. Himberg also gives extensive recreational areas along the Kalter Gang, a tributary of the Schwechat River that shapes the local landscape.
