💡 Tips
- Hike up to the Liechtenstein Castle early in the day to avoid the crowds and enjoy unobstructed views of the Vienna Basin.
- Take advantage of the local wine taverns (Heurigen); check their 'Ausg'steckt' calendar as they are only open during specific weeks of the year.
- Parking near the castle can get crowded on weekends; use public transport like the bus from Mödling or local trains when possible.
- Pack comfortable walking shoes, as the paths through the Vienna Woods around the town are uneven and hilly.

Maria Enzersdorf is a market town in the district of Mödling in Lower Austria, located at the eastern edge of the Vienna Woods. The town is known far beyond regional borders for Liechtenstein Castle, the ancestral seat of the House of Liechtenstein, which towers majestically over the town. The history of the municipality is deeply rooted in viticulture and Christian tradition, emphasized by the Maria Enzersdorf pilgrimage church and the adjacent Franciscan monastery. An architectural jewel in the town center is Hunyadi Castle, now used for cultural events. In the 1960s, the Südstadt district was created in the east of the municipality, designed as a modern residential and sports town, housing the Federal Sports Center and the headquarters of the energy supplier EVN. Maria Enzersdorf combines the historical charm of an old wine-growing village with modern infrastructure and excellent connections to the city of Vienna. The landscape is shaped by the foothills of the Anninger massif and features numerous opportunities for leisure activities in nature.
