Nyungwe Canopy (Rwanda)

Weather…

The Nyungwe Canopy Walkway is one of the main attractions of Nyungwe National Park in Rwanda. It is a 160-meter-long suspension bridge, built in three sections, that spans a deep gorge. At its highest point, it hangs 70 meters above the forest floor, offering a unique, bird's-eye perspective of the canopy of the ancient montane rainforest. This vantage point allows visitors to spot primates like Angolan colobus monkeys and various bird species that typically reside in the upper layers of the trees. The walk to the bridge is a guided hike on the Igishigishigi Trail, which is an experience in itself, passing through the forest's rich flora and fauna. The bridge is the first of its kind in East Africa and a must-do for adventurous visitors.
