The Želino Bridge, often referred to as the 'Old Bridge,' is a historic Ottoman structure spanning the Vardar River in western North Macedonia. It was constructed during the Ottoman era, with estimates dating its origin to the 16th or 17th century, potentially under the influence of Mimar Sinan's school of architecture. Spanning approximately 130 meters with eight stone arches, it is one of the most significant examples of Ottoman engineering in the Polog region. Built from massive stone blocks, the bridge is characterized by architectural stability that has withstood the floods of the Vardar for centuries. Historically, it served as a vital trade link between Tetovo and Skopje and was part of the strategic infrastructure of the Balkans. Today, the bridge is protected as a cultural monument and stands as a landmark of the Želino municipality.
