Skopje City Park (North Macedonia)

Weather…

Skopje City Park, locally known as Gradski Park, is the largest and most significant green area in the Macedonian capital. It was established in the early 20th century, between 1905 and 1910, during the final years of Ottoman rule. The park stretches along the right bank of the Vardar River and features a vast expanse of old trees, artificial ponds, and winding paths. It is a central recreational spot for the citizens of Skopje and houses several important facilities, including the Skopje Zoo, the botanical garden, and various sports grounds. Adjacent to the park is the Toše Proeski National Arena, the largest football stadium in the country. The city park serves not only as a green lung for the city but also as a venue for cultural events and open-air concerts during the summer. Its design combines elements of classical European landscape architecture with the natural riparian vegetation of the Vardar River.
