Brezovica is the premier winter sports destination in Kosovo, situated on the northern slopes of the Sharr Mountains. The resort ranges in altitude from approximately 900 to 2,500 meters and is renowned for its challenging slopes and excellent freeriding opportunities. Despite its aging infrastructure, it draws skiers and snowboarders from across the region who appreciate the natural snow and spectacular views. However, Brezovica is not just a winter destination. In summer, the area transforms into a paradise for hikers and mountain bikers. The alpine meadows are carpeted with wildflowers, and the cool mountain air provides a welcome escape from the heat of the lowland cities. Numerous trails lead to high-altitude lakes and panoramic viewpoints. Accommodations in Brezovica range from simple mountain huts to hotels. The atmosphere is laid-back and hospitable. Local restaurants serve hearty mountain fare, such as grilled meats and homemade cheeses. It is most easily reached by car or taxi from Ferizaj or Pristina. The best time for skiing is from January to March, while hikers will find June to September convenient.
