Trevelin is a small Patagonian village founded by Welsh immigrants in the late 19th century. The local architecture and numerous traditional tea houses still preserve this heritage today. Visitors can enjoy black tea alongside the regional specialty, the "torta negra" cake. The surroundings are dominated by the nearby Los Alerces National Park, an excellent hiking destination with its thousand-year-old trees and glacial lakes. Another natural attraction is the Nant y Fall waterfalls, located just a few kilometers from the town center. The most convenient time to visit is October. During this spring month, vast, colorful tulip fields bloom on the outskirts of the village, creating a sharp contrast with the snow-capped Andean peaks in the background. Access is usually via the nearby Esquel airport or along the legendary Route 40.
