Water temperature…
Most na Soči is positioned on a scenic rocky terrace overlooking the confluence of the Soča and Idrijca rivers. Due to a downstream dam, the rivers here broaden into a magnificent artificial lake known for its still, lively emerald waters. This mirror-like surface creates a peaceful contrast to the wild rapids found further upstream, making it a favorite spot for photography and leisurely water activities. The town is one of the most significant archaeological sites in Southeast Europe, with history reaching back to the Bronze Age. It was a major center of the Hallstatt culture, specifically the 'Sveta Lucija' group, named after the town's former name. Visitors can walk the archaeological trail 'Past Trails,' which showcases restored Roman house foundations and prehistoric burial sites that highlight the area's ancient importance. Today, Most na Soči is a hub for recreational boating, kayaking, and fly-fishing. A unique local attraction is the 'Lucija' paddleboat, which features scenic cruises on the lake. The well-kept walking paths along the shore, such as the Kosmač trail, provide easy access to nature. The town is also a key stop on the historic Bohinj railway line, famous for its tunnels and bridges connecting the Alpine interior with the Adriatic coast.
