Vogel is one of Slovenia's most sweeping viewpoints and a premier destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Perched high above Lake Bohinj, the plateau is reached via a cable car from Ukanc that swiftly ascends over 1,000 meters. In winter, Vogel transforms into a reliable ski resort known for its natural snow and striking vistas of Mount Triglav, Slovenia's highest peak. Due to its high altitude, the skiing season often lasts until late April. During the summer months, Vogel is an excellent starting point for hiking adventures within the Triglav National Park. Trails range from easy walks across the alpine meadows to challenging climbs onto neighboring peaks like Šija. The aerial view of the deep blue Lake Bohinj from the plateau is incomparable. Mountain huts offer hearty local fare such as jota (stew) and ričet to fuel hikers. The best time for a visit is from December to April for winter sports and June to September for hiking and mountain photography. Vogel provides a majestic alpine experience, combining adventure with some of the finest natural scenery in the Julian Alps.
