What is this place?
Bugesera Industrial Park is an industrial zone under construction near Kigali's new international airport. It aims to strengthen Rwanda's industrial base, attract foreign investment and create jobs in the Bugesera region - focusing on light industry and logistics.
Visiting
Since the park is still under construction, the site is largely a construction area, not open to the public. From surrounding roads (especially the airport road) visitors can see the emerging buildings and infrastructure.
Where to view it
The best view of the industrial park is from the new expressway to the airport, which passes directly by the site. From a small elevation in the south one can overview the entire construction progress and planned parcels.
Local products
Since the park is still under construction, no products are being manufactured yet. In the meantime, travelers can buy agricultural products on Bugesera markets such as fresh pineapple, cassava and rice, typical for the region.
Active season
Construction work currently continues year-round, with faster pace during the dry season (June-September). Once the park is completed, industrial activity will ramp up steadily, expected from 2025 in several phases.
