Smrdliva Voda is a well-known mountain resort and mineral spring located on the eastern slopes of Mount Kožuf, approximately 24 kilometers from Gevgelija. The name literally translates to smelly water, referring to the high sulfur content of the springs, which is famous for its medicinal properties. The springs are situated at an elevation of about 850 meters above sea level, positioned within dense forests of beech and pine trees. This mineral water is traditionally used to treat stomach ailments, kidney stones, and various rheumatic conditions. Over time, a settlement of holiday homes and tourist facilities has grown around the springs, providing a cool retreat during the hot summer months. The area also serves as a primary starting point for hiking expeditions to the peaks of the Kožuf massif, benefiting from high air quality due to its isolation.
