Fehérgyarmat is a town in the Szatmár region of northeastern Hungary, situated near the Szamos and Tisza rivers. The settlement was first mentioned in historical records in 1327 and grew as a local trade center throughout the centuries. Its most significant monument is the 15th-century Reformed Church, which features a late Gothic structure and a painted wooden ceiling. The town played a role in several historical events, including the 1848-49 War of Independence. In the modern era, Fehérgyarmat serves as an administrative and cultural hub for the surrounding villages. It is also known for its thermal baths and its proximity to the protected natural areas of the Szatmár-Bereg Nature Reserve.
