Lake Pázmánd, situated on the edge of the village of Pázmánd in Fejér County, is a scenic reservoir located at the eastern foot of the Velence Hills. The lake is fed by the Pázmándi stream, and while originally created for agricultural and flood protection purposes, it has become one of the region's most popular fishing and recreation spots. The water surface is bordered by reed beds and a carefully maintained shoreline where visitors can enjoy nature in a quiet, undisturbed environment. The lake's rich fish population, especially carp and grass carp, attracts sport anglers from afar, while the surrounding gentle hills offer excellent hiking opportunities to the famous Pázmánd quartzite rocks. The water plays an important role in maintaining the local ecosystem and groundwater regulation even during drier periods.

This small, remarkably quiet lake at the foot of the Velence Mountains is easily accessible via local secondary roads in Hungary. Visitors can usually navigate via the country roads leading from surrounding villages.

Spring and early summer are frequently considered the absolute best times to enjoy the tranquility of nature here before it gets too hot. Autumn similarly gives quite beautiful moods for relaxed outings at this lake.

The trails meandering around the lake are mostly unpaved and lead through a gently rolling, idyllic hill landscape. The terrain is relatively flat and generally poses no major difficulties for the average walker.

What to bring

Comfortable, closed walking shoes are absolutely sufficient for traversing the unpaved nature trails. In sunny weather, one should definitely remember a hat and some drinking water, as it is relatively undeveloped.

There are usually no large official parking lots directly at the lake, just informal stopping points along the roadside. It is strongly recommended to park considerately and strictly avoid blocking any local access roads.
