Gaja Brook (Hungary)

Weather…

The Gaja Brook is one of the most romantic watercourses in the Bakony Mountains, having carved a deep and spectacular gorge between Bodajk and Fehérvárcsurgó over millennia. The crystal-clear water of the Gaja Valley, the cascades plunging from rocks, and the dense beech forests radiate an almost Alpine atmosphere in the Transdanubian Mountains. One of the most sought-after points of the gorge is the 'Roman Bath' (Római-fürdő), where the brook falls through a narrow rock crevice into a deep stone basin. The area is also famous for Bakony outlaw legends, such as the Sobri Jóska Cave located in the cliff wall above the brook. The valley's popularity remains unbroken among nature lovers thanks to the National Blue Trail route and well-developed rest areas.
