Supetar welcomes its visitors with a relaxed atmosphere and the scent of pines and sea. The town is arranged around a wide bay lined with cafes, restaurants, and small shops. Architecturally, the Petrinović family mausoleum in the cemetery stands out, a masterpiece by sculptor Toma Rosandić with its striking white dome made of Brač stone. The island's white limestone is omnipresent anyway and shapes the cityscape with its bright facades. Supetar has numerous bays like Vela Luka or Banj, which are handy for swimming. Despite its role as the island's main hub, the place has preserved its authentic character, which is especially palpable at the local market and in the narrow streets of the upper town. Short crossings to Split also make it attractive for day trippers.
