Petrovac is a small municipality located in the western part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, within the Republika Srpska entity. It was formed after the Bosnian War through the division of the pre-war Bosanski Petrovac municipality. The administrative center is situated in the village of Drinić. Geographically, the region is defined by the massive Grmeč and Klekovača mountain ranges, making it a hub for forestry and timber processing.
