Visoko is picturesquely located northwest of Sarajevo, exactly at the confluence of the Bosna and Fojnička rivers. During the medieval epoch, the city played an outstanding role as the political, cultural, and economic center of the independent Bosnian state. It was once the historical seat of the Bosnian kings and the solemn site of the coronation of Tvrtko I, one of the region's most significant rulers. Visoko gained international fame in recent times due to the controversial discovery of the so-called Sun Pyramid, which draws numerous tourists and researchers to the valley, although its artificial origin is highly debated scientifically. Traditionally, Visoko is also widely renowned for its highly developed leather industry, which reflects the exceptional craftsmanship of the locals. This unique combination of deep historical significance, modern myths, and thriving handicrafts makes the city a truly fascinating travel destination.
