Zavidovići is widely celebrated as the undisputed city of wood and is picturesquely situated at the confluence of the Bosna, Krivaja, and Gostović rivers in the center of the country. For more than a century, the city served as the most vital and thriving hub of the woodworking industry in the entire former Yugoslavia. The massive Krivaja combine not only decisively shaped the local economy but also heavily dominated social life and overall urban development. A truly exceptional and internationally fascinating highlight of the surrounding area are the mysterious stone spheres (Kamene kugle) located in the nearby Duboki Potok forest. To this day, these gigantic, almost perfectly round stone phenomena pose numerous geological and historical mysteries, continuously attracting adventurers, geologists, and tourists from all over the world to this heavily industrialized region.
