Water temperature…
Tauplitz is located in the Styrian Salzkammergut and is best known for the Tauplitzalm, Central Europe's largest lake plateau. At an altitude of about 1,600 meters, a unique alpine landscape unfolds, attracting visitors in both summer and winter. The village itself retains its traditional charm and serves as a well-suited base for exploring the Ausseerland region. The summer highlight is the '6-Lakes-Hike' on the plateau. This trail leads past photogenic waters such as Krallersee, Großsee, and Steirersee, tucked away in impressive alpine flora. For adventurers, the Gamsblick via ferrata provides exciting challenges. The plateau is easily accessible by chairlift or via the Tauplitzalm Alpine Road (toll road). The blooming alpine roses in early summer are a special natural spectacle. In winter, Tauplitz transforms into a snow-sure family ski resort. Thanks to its favorable geographic location, the plateau is one of the snowiest areas in Styria. Modern lifts serve wide slopes suitable for all skill levels. Cross-country skiers will find high-altitude trails with spectacular views of the Grimming mountain. After a day in the snow, the nearby thermal baths in Bad Mitterndorf offer great relaxation.
