Miramar
Founded in 1888, Miramar has long held the nickname the "City of Children" due to its historical and ongoing focus on safe, family-oriented tourism. Located approximately 45 kilometers south of the bustling hub of Mar del Plata, this coastal city gives a significantly quieter and flatter beach experience. A central ecological feature is the Vivero Dunícola Florentino Ameghino, a massive 500-hectare experimental forest planted to halt the movement of coastal dunes, which now provides vast green recreational spaces. Deep within this planted forest lies the so-called "Bosque Energético" (Energy Forest), an area of dense pine trees characterized by local myths of magnetic anomalies and unique natural energies. The flat topography of Miramar and its wide coastal promenade make it a premier destination for cycling and horseback riding. The city remains a peaceful retreat compared to its larger Atlantic neighbors.
