Cariló
Cariló is an exclusive resort created in the 1920s by Héctor Manuel Guerrero through the intensive afforestation of coastal sand dunes. Its name translates to "Green Dune" in the indigenous Mapuche language, accurately describing its current landscape. The settlement is defined by unpaved sandy streets and architecture relying heavily on natural wood and stone materials. Houses and luxury cabins are deeply integrated into the dense pine and eucalyptus forest, ensuring privacy. The heart of the town features a small, open-air commercial center with boutique shops, artisan markets, and high-end gastronomy. Driving vehicles directly on the beach is strictly regulated, and the entire area maintains a strong focus on nature conservation and low environmental impact. Due to its upscale nature and strict zoning laws, it remains quieter and less crowded than neighboring towns. Visitors typically arrive via the connecting road from Pinamar to the north.
