- Park your car as early as possible as the road becomes extremely narrow and turning is difficult at the end.

- Carry plenty of water; the trail has little shade and involves trekking over hot granite rocks.
- Look out for the large Seychelles Fruit Bats often hanging in the trees at the road's end.
- Sturdy footwear is essential as the path consists of slippery granite slabs and uneven terrain.

Danzil is the end point of the coastal road in northwest Mahé and lies at the transition between Bel Ombre and the uninhabited coastline that leads to the secluded Anse Major beach. The name traces back to an early plantation owner who grew coconuts and later vanilla here. Today Danzil consists of a few residences, a small turning bay for cars, and a bus stop from which the famous Anse Major trail begins. This two-kilometer footpath leads through dense vegetation past granite boulders and small viewpoints, with spectacular views over the deep-blue sea. During the hike one can observe native bird species such as the Seychelles sunbird and the Seychelles blue pigeon. On the rocks around Danzil grow vanilla orchids and pandanus trees. From the turning bay itself one enjoys a beautiful view over the bays of Beau Vallon and the offshore island of Silhouette, which lies about twenty kilometers to the west.
