Perseverance II is the second expansion phase of the large housing project on the reclaimed Île Persévérance, developed from the mid-2010s onward. Unlike the first phase, which mainly comprises smaller row houses, Perseverance II also includes multi-storey apartment blocks to accommodate additional families in a more compact footprint. The district contains several small playgrounds, a community hall, a cyber café center, and a sports ground. Administratively the area belongs to the 28th district of the Seychelles and emerged from the population pressure of Victoria and Plaisance. Transport links are provided by the main street toward the East Coast Road and a direct bus line. Despite its short history, a bustling neighborhood life has rapidly developed in Perseverance II: communal festivities at Christmas and on Seychelles National Day are celebrated in the central plaza, a feature unusual in traditional island architecture.
