Tornik is the highest peak of Zlatibor Mountain in western Serbia, reaching an elevation of 1,496 meters. Geologically, the mountain is distinctive for being composed primarily of peridotite and serpentinite, which gives Zlatibor its characteristic rolling plateaus and golden-hued grasses. The summit is now a major hub for tourism and outdoor sports, famous for the Tornik Ski Resort and the 'Gold Gondola,' one of the world's longest panoramic cable cars at nine kilometers in length. From the top of Tornik, visitors can enjoy clear views across the Stari Vlah region and even see the Durmitor peaks in Montenegro. Historically, Zlatibor has been a renowned health resort, valued for its crisp air and the meeting of continental and Mediterranean air currents. The flora includes rare pine species, specifically the 'golden pine' (Pinus sylvestris var. zlatiborica). Despite extensive development, Tornik maintains rugged trails and natural areas beyond the ski slopes. The subalpine climate features cool summers and reliable snowfall in winter, making it a year-round destination.

Tornik Peak is highly accessible thanks to the modern 'Gold Gondola' lift that connects the center of Zlatibor directly to the summit. Alternatively, visitors can drive up a winding asphalt road directly to the ski center's base parking area.

Winter is the peak season here, offering reliable conditions for downhill skiing and snowboarding at the resort. Summer is also spirited, with the ski infrastructure repurposed for mountain biking, panoramic sightseeing, and alpine coaster rides.
