The Moravica (often called Golijska Moravica) is a river in western Serbia, originating on the northern slopes of Golija Mountain. It has a length of approximately 98 kilometers and, together with the Đetinja River, forms the West Morava near Požega. The river's course is characterized by a diverse landscape, ranging from deep gorges in the upper reaches to fertile valleys in the lower reaches. The Moravica valley is particularly famous for raspberry cultivation, especially in the Arilje region, which is regarded as the world capital of raspberries. The river is rich in fish, notably trout, making it a popular destination for anglers. Along its banks are significant cultural and historical sites, including the Klisura Monastery and the St. Achillios Church in Arilje. The water quality in the upper course is considered excellent, which is why the river is also of great importance for the water supply of local communities.

The river is highly accessible as it meanders through the heart of Ivanjica and alongside major regional roads. Numerous footpaths and small bridges provide direct access to its scenic banks.

Late spring through early autumn is the well-suited time to enjoy the river's surroundings. The summer months offer a very pleasant, cooling microclimate near the water, great for leisurely strolls.

The terrain immediately bordering the river is mostly flat, consisting of well-tended parklands in urban areas and grassy or lightly forested natural banks as it stretches out into the countryside.

Comfortable, casual walking shoes are completely adequate for exploring the urban and semi-urban sections. Bring sunglasses and perhaps a picnic blanket to fully enjoy the grassy riverside spots.

Plentiful parking can typically be found within the town of Ivanjica, often just a short walk from the water. Roadside pull-offs are also frequently available when following the river's rural course.

The riverbanks are generally very safe and family-friendly, especially within the town limits. Exercise normal caution near the water's edge, as natural banks can sometimes be muddy and slippery.
