Uvac Canyon is an impressive natural wonder in southwestern Serbia, part of the Uvac River, which winds through limestone cliffs. The canyon is known for its up to 300-meter deep sinkholes and characteristic meanders stretching over 35 kilometers. The area is an important protected area for the rare griffon vulture (Gyps fulvus), which breeds here. Uvac Canyon hosts one of the largest griffon vulture colonies in the Balkans. The region is also rich in caves, including the Uvac Cave with a length of over 6 kilometers. Tourists can take boat trips on the reservoir created by the canyon. The surrounding forests are home to brown bears, lynxes, and various birds of prey. The canyon is part of the 'Uvac' Nature Park and is a popular destination for rafting, kayaking, and climbing.
