The Port of Pančevo is a critical inland waterway hub on the Danube, serving as a primary logistics gateway for Serbia's heavy industry. Located at the confluence of the Tamiš and Danube rivers, just 15 km from Belgrade, it is strategically integrated with the Southern Industrial Zone. The port handles the bulk of raw materials and finished products for the NIS oil refinery, HIP-Petrohemija, and HIP-Azotara. Its facilities feature specialized terminals for liquid chemicals, grain, and bulk cargo, linked directly to the European river network (Danube-Main-Rhine). In recent years, significant investments have been made to modernize loading capacities and rail connections to meet international standards. The port acts as a vital link in the Pan-European Transport Corridor VII, connecting Serbia to both Central Europe and the Black Sea. Pančevo's economic relevance is inseparable from its role as the maritime lifeline for the nation's energy and chemical sectors.
