Zrenjanin City Hall (Serbia)

Weather…

The Zrenjanin City Hall is one of the most magnificent administrative buildings in Vojvodina, serving as a symbol of the city's 19th-century prosperity. The original structure was completed in 1820 but suffered significant damage during a major fire in 1885. Its subsequent reconstruction and expansion between 1886 and 1887 were designed by the renowned architects Gyula Pártos and Ödön Lechner in a grand Neo-Baroque style. The facade is noted for its rich ornamental details and imposing roofline. Inside, the Great Hall features remarkable stained-glass windows that allegorically represent Power, Justice, and Wisdom. To this day, the building remains the seat of the municipal government and the Central Banat District. Surrounded by a beautifully maintained park, it forms the architectural centerpiece of historic Zrenjanin, showcasing the region's diverse cultural and artistic heritage.
