Weather…

Košutnjak is a large forest and park located in the southwestern part of Belgrade, often referred to as the city's lungs. The name originates from the word for doe (košuta), reflecting its history as a royal hunting ground for the Obrenović dynasty. Covering approximately 330 hectares at an average elevation of 250 meters, the park serves as a vital ecological zone and recreational area for Belgrade residents. Geologically, the Košutnjak plateau is characterized by limestone and clay formations. Historically, the forest was the site of the assassination of Prince Mihailo Obrenović in 1868. Today, Košutnjak is a major sports and educational hub, housing the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education and various athletic facilities, including outdoor pools and ski tracks. The vegetation primarily consists of deciduous forests with oak, linden, and maple trees, creating a microclimate significantly cooler than the city center during summer months.
