Vilnius TV Tower (Lithuania)

Weather…

The Vilnius TV Tower, standing at an impressive height of 326.5 meters, is not only the tallest building in Lithuania but also a powerful symbol of the nation's resistance and independence. Construction of the distinctive structure lasted from 1974 to 1980, and it has dominated the skyline of the Karoliniškės district ever since. The tower gained international historical significance during the January Events of 1991, when unarmed civilians heroically defended the building against Soviet tank troops; during these tragic clashes, 14 people lost their lives. Today, a memorial at the base of the tower honors the fallen freedom fighters. For visitors, the tower features a circular revolving restaurant named Paukščių takas (Milky Way) located at a height of 165 meters. From this observation deck, which completes a full rotation every 45 minutes, visitors can enjoy dramatic views extending up to 50 kilometers across Vilnius and the surrounding countryside on a clear day.
