Raudondvaris Castle (Lithuania)

Weather…

Raudondvaris Castle, beautifully situated near the confluence of the Nevėžis and Nemunas rivers, is one of the most outstanding Renaissance architectural monuments in the Kaunas region. The origins of the striking red-brick manor date back to the 17th century, but the estate was extensively remodeled in the 19th century by the powerful Lithuanian noble family Tiškevičius (Tyszkiewicz). Under their ownership, the estate experienced its golden age: it was expanded to include a magnificent orangery, spacious stables, and a beautifully landscaped English-style park. Today, the painstakingly restored castle ensemble serves as the cultural heart of the Kaunas district. The main building houses a historical museum, while the elaborately designed orangery is frequently utilized as a premier venue for festive banquets, weddings, and classical music concerts. The manicured parklands surrounding the castle attract locals and tourists year-round, drawn by the romantic atmosphere and rich historical architecture.
