Pasvalys is a unique small town in northern Lithuania, geographically situated where the Lėvuo and Svalia rivers converge. First mentioned in historical records in 1497, the area is famous for its exceptional geology. The entire region is rich in karst phenomena and deep sinkholes, from which mineral-rich spring water frequently surfaces. Particularly well-known is the so-called “Green Spring” (Žaliasis šaltinis), a deep karst hole right in the city center. In addition to its natural wonders, Pasvalys attracts visitors with the Antanas Stapulionis Stone Museum, showcasing a massive collection of curious stones and millstones. With about 6,500 residents, the town provides a rich blend of nature, mineral springs, and northern Lithuanian coziness.
