Grauspitz (Liechtenstein)

Weather…

Grauspitz, specifically Vorder Grauspitz, is the highest mountain in the Principality of Liechtenstein, standing at an elevation of 2,599 meters. It is located within the Rätikon range of the Alps, situated directly on the border between Liechtenstein and the Swiss canton of Graubünden. The summit is primarily composed of limestone and belongs to the Schesaplana group. Despite its status as the nation's highest point, Grauspitz is less developed for tourism than neighboring peaks, as there is no officially marked hiking trail leading directly to the summit. Consequently, the ascent requires alpine experience and surefootedness in unmarked terrain. From the top, climbers are rewarded with an impressive view over the Rhine Valley and the surrounding peaks of the Swiss and Austrian Alps. The mountain marks the natural southern border of the country and serves as a key symbol of Liechtenstein's alpine geography.
