Weather…

Murovdag is the highest mountain range in the Lesser Caucasus within Azerbaijan, stretching over a length of approximately 70 kilometers. Its highest peak, Gamışdağ, reaches an impressive elevation of 3,724 meters. The range is characterized by its sharp ridges, deep valleys, and a multitude of glacial lakes formed during the last glacial period. Geologically, Murovdag is primarily composed of volcano-sedimentary rocks from the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. The northern slopes are heavily forested, while alpine vegetation and barren rocky landscapes dominate the summit regions. Due to its strategic location and difficult topography, the range has historically and militarily played a significant role. Climatic conditions are extreme, with long-lasting winters and heavy snowfall that can persist in sheltered areas even during the height of summer.
